August, 3rd 2024 – The English Department Student Association Forum under KOPERTAIS IV Surabaya Ministry of Religion collaborates with THE BENY ENGLISH COLLEGE as a job training institution and English language courses in Probolinggo Regency. The leading English proficiency testing program, webinar, carries out the National Workshop on Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Institutional Testing Program (ITP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Religion’s English Department Forum (FORTABING) which consists of ten campuses, namely the English Tadris study program Darussalam University (UNIDA) Gontor Ponorogo, Tribakti Islamic University Lirboyo Kediri, Hasanuddin Islamic Religious Institute (IAIH) Pare, Kediri, Tarbiyatut Tholabah Islamic Institute (IAI TABAH) Lamongan, Uluwiyah Mojokerto Islamic Institute, Nahdlatul Ulama’ Bangil Islamic Institute, Zainul Hasan Islamic University (UNZAH) Genggong Kraksaan Probolinggo, Al-Falah As-Sunniyah University (UAS) Kencong, Jember, Al-Qolam University Malang, and KH. Muhktar Intercession Blokagung University Banyuwangi.
This national workshop webinar aims to prepare English Department study program students for the TOEFL ITP test. The TOEFL ITP test is an English language test that tests English language skills, proficiency and competency. The first speaker was Mr. Beny Hamdani, who discussed comprehensively the listening section of the TOEFL ITP test which began with a presentation of the TOEFL ITP in brief. The second speaker, Mr. Aries, discussed structure and written expression, discussing TOEFL ITP test questions. The third speaker was Mrs. Diska who discussed the reading section.
Participants in this Webinar Workshop was attended by hundreds of participants consisting of pupils, teachers, university students and lecturers from 10 member campuses of the FORTABING Association of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in particular and there were also participants from other campuses spread across various regions in Indonesia, for example from Muhammadiyah University (UM) Papua, Tidar University (UNTIDAR) Magelang, Central Java. Apart from that, there are high school institutions that are also participants in the English National Workshop on TOEFL ITP webinar, namely State Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) 2 Probolinggo Regency, Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo High School (SMA), and State High School (SMAN) 1 Paiton Probolinggo.
Mr. Beny Hamdani, S.S, S.Pd, M.Pd,.C.ET as General Chair of the FORTABING Association said in his speech: “This activity is a real movement and action from ten study programs from ten campuses in implementing the Tridharma of higher education as well as upgrading and testing students’ English competency.” Apart from that, one of the workshop participants, Nur Afifah Aminah Hasanah, said that she really appreciated and was grateful for the implementation of this webinar, I gained various knowledge in the TOEFL ITP test starting from strategies, tips and tricks in working on listening section questions, structure and written expressions and reading. sections.
