TBIG : The term micro teaching is not a foreign term for teachers and prospective teachers. Examples of micro teaching include micro teaching carried out by students who will become prospective teachers before carrying out Teaching Skills Practices or when prospective teachers want to apply to become teachers at a school.

Micro teaching activities can also be carried out by teachers in certain activities with their colleagues. What is micro teaching? Sukirman said that microteaching is learning using an approach, or way of practicing teaching performance which is done in a micro or simplified way.

What things are simplified? Usually things that are simplified in micro learning include time, material, number of students, types of basic teaching skills being trained, use of learning methods and media, and other learning elements.

Meanwhile, according to Sardiman, micro teaching is an activity carried out to improve performance related to basic skills in teaching or training in managing interactions in learning and teaching.

By knowing several opinions about micro teaching from several experts above, it can be said that the most important part of micro teaching is teaching practice as a concrete form, which is displayed with competencies that have been provided to prospective educators or educators themselves. Practice in micro teaching is usually carried out in the form of peer-teaching (learning with colleagues).

Micro teaching is also commonly carried out before prospective teachers do real teaching in actual classes. In micro teaching, prospective teachers are expected to be able to practice and also demonstrate their skills in basic teaching competencies in a limited way, whether limited in terms of competency (goal), material, students, and also time.
