
Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim has implemented an Independent curriculum as a substitute for the K13 curriculum which is considered irrelevant to current conditions.
The learning method will assist teachers in managing the classroom. Usually, if the teacher doesn’t use the method there will be a lot of students hanging around in the classroom either running or busy by themselves. This will certainly disturb other friends who are studying. The presence of learning methods will affect the learning activities of students so that they can be more conducive. However, entering the era of the new curriculum, namely the Independent curriculum, the methods that can be used are increasingly developing and increasingly interactive. Following the objectives of the independent curriculum, namely exploring concepts and strengthening competence.
So, here are some learning methods that are suitable for use in the Independent curriculum.
- Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
Problem-based learning (PBL) is a learning method that involves the activeness of students to always think critically and always be skilled in solving a problem. The more actively students utilize their thinking skills, the greater the chance for problems to be solved.
The purpose of this learning method is as follows.
- Improve students’ critical thinking skills.
- Train students in solving a problem systematically.
- Helping students understand the role of adults in real life.
- Encouraging students to become independent and responsible individuals.
2. Experiment
The second Merdeka Curriculum learning method is an experimental method whose goal is to prove to students that this material is true by proving it through experiments.
Students more fully accept this method, because it is not only taught in theory in class. This method makes students people who have a high curiosity.

3. Peer Teaching Method
This method further reactivates the way of working in groups, discussing and presenting then teaching the results of the discussions to classmates. After that, allow other friends to ask questions.
This method teaches about courage in answering a problem, then activates students’ thinking ability and reasoning abilities.

The design method activates knowledge, attitudes, and skills into a unified method and is carried out by creating a project individually or in groups.
This method helps activate students’ critical and creative thinking in carrying out projects. This method teaches about how the knowledge taught is implemented in a real way
Many more methods are very suitable for Independent Curriculum. The methods presented above all depend on the ability and competence of the teacher.
