Thursday, January 8th, 2025 – Students of English Department of Al-Qolam University participated in a Table Manner activity as part of an English-based entrepreneurship project. The activity was designed to improve students’ communication skills, hospitality knowledge, and professional etiquette in an international setting.
The participants departed from the campus and headed to Golden Tulip Holland Resort Batu. During the visit, the students joined several educational and practical sessions provided by the hotel management.
The event began with an opening session, followed by a room tour where students were introduced to hotel facilities and room management standards. After that, the participants attended a Making Bed training session to learn proper housekeeping techniques used in the hospitality industry.
The main agenda of the program was the Table Manner training. In this session, students learned dining etiquette, proper use of dining utensils, formal dining procedures, and professional behavior during official meals. The training was conducted in English to support students’ language development and confidence in professional communication.
The activity concluded with a closing session before all participants returned home safely. Through this program, students gained valuable experiences in hospitality practices, entrepreneurship insight, and English communication skills that will be beneficial for their future careers.
