Malang – Luluk Indayati, a 5th semester student from English Department of Alqolam University Malang, won Runner-Up in the Teachers’ Storytelling Competition 2026 held by PELTIN (Primary English Language Teachers of Indonesia).
The competition had the theme “How I Teach English in Primary School”. This event supports the government’s plan to make English a required subject in elementary schools starting in 2027.
Participants had to make a short video, 1-3 minutes long, about creative and fun ways to teach English to elementary students.
Luluk shared her teaching ideas in the video. She showed how to make English lessons fun and easy for kids. Because of her creativity, she was chosen as the Runner-Up.
This competition was open to all elementary English teachers in Indonesia. The total prize was Rp 3,500,000. The top 3 winners also received vouchers for the CONAPLINxPELTIN Conference 2026.
Her achievement proves that students from Alqolam University Malang can also make great contributions to education in Indonesia.
