Malang, December, 14th 2024 – English Access Scholarship Program 2024-2026 officially opened with the spirit of building a young generation that excels in English language proficiency. This prestigious program is attended by eight universities in Malang Raya, namely the State Islamic University (UIN) Malang, Brawijaya University, State University of Malang, State Polytechnic of Malang, Ma Chung University, Muhammadiyah University of Malang, Islamic University of Malang, and Al-Qolam University of Malang. The participants have gone through a strict selection process to join this program.
The opening ceremony held at UIN Malang was also attended by a number of important figures, including representatives from the United States Consulate General in Surabaya and Jakarta, Vice Rector III of UIN Malang, representatives from eight universities, as well as guardians of students and participating students. Al-Qolam University was represented by Sofiyatul Jennah, a fifth semester student of the English Education Study Program.
This program offers extraordinary benefits for participants. For the next two years, students will take intensive lectures at UIN Malang taught directly by teachers from the United States Consulate General. This program is designed to improve English language skills, broaden cultural insights, and open up opportunities for students to contribute in the international arena.
As one of the participants, Al-Qolam University from the English Study Program Department views this program as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its students’ competence in foreign languages. “We are proud that Sofiyah can represent Al-Qolam University in this program. Hopefully the experience gained during this program can be a provision for higher achievement in the future,” said Budik Kusworo, M.Pd. Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah, Al-Qolam University Malang.
The opening of the English Access Scholarship Program also shows the strong commitment of various parties in supporting international standard education in Indonesia. Through collaboration between the best universities in Malang Raya and the Consulate General of the United States, it is hoped that this program can produce graduates who are able to compete globally.
