The English Student Outdoor Activity (EGSORT) at Alqolam University Malang was successfully held on Thursday, October 23, 2025. This annual event was attended by more than 60 participants who participated in and contributed to the success of the event. This event served as a welcoming and bonding opportunity for senior students and new students of the English Language Education study program.
The event began with the departure of new and senior students from the campus to Wana Wisata Hutan Pinus Winong, located in Wajak, at 7:00 a.m. With an estimated travel time of 30-45 minutes, the students arrived at the location at 8:10 a.m. The event opened at 08:30 a.m. with a speech from the general chair of the student association of the study program, Maulana Abdurrozikin, which was enthusiastically welcomed by the new students. This was followed by a speech from the chair of the English Student Outdoor Activity, M. Faizun Shohib, as well as a prayer together before the next event was held.
There were four types of fun games that filled the event this time. The new students were very enthusiastic and supportive in the games. Although it rained heavily during the second game, causing the game to be temporarily stopped, the students did not lose their enthusiasm in continuing the game and were even more enthusiastic because they felt it was more exciting to play in the rain.
“The game continued under the rain, making it even more exciting, like returning to childhood,” said a new student during a break in the game when asked for his opinion.
After resting and having lunch, the event continued with a sharing session by alumni and seniors from the English Language Teaching study program. Many new students participated in the question and answer session during this segment. The final event concluded with a cultural performance by the new students, prize give away, and group photo.
