DISSAPEAR CULTURE

LUDRUK

Ludruk is a drama art that is played by a group of people accompanied by music.  Ludruk is a type of traditional theater native to East Java.  Ludruk is conveyed in an appearance and language that is easily digested by the public.

Ludruk stories can be divided into two types, namely standard stories and fantasy stories.  Pakem stories are stories about prominent figures from the East Java region.  Fantasy stories are stories written by certain individuals that are usually related to everyday people’s lives.

Ludruk functions as entertainment, and also functions as a disclosure of the atmosphere of the life of the supporting community.  Now Ludruk’s art is almost extinct, because it is rare to find complete Ludruk spectacles like in the past, now there are only excerpts of his comedy scenes.  This is due to the lack of public interest in seeing this art performance.

LOSS OF ISHARI NU CULTURE IN GANJARAN VILLAGE

In this assignment, I raised the theme “LOSS OF ISHARI NU CULTURE IN GANJARAN VILLAGE”. However, before discussing it, allow me to introduce a little what Ishari NU is.

Ishari NU is an autonomous body that implements NU’s policy in the cultural development of the art of hadrah and prayer. Ishari NU was born in 1959 and became an autonomous body in 1961 at the request of KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah.

Formerly, in the Ganjaran village ishari had experienced its heyday. One of the ishari figures in the Ganjaran village that I know is Mr. Sulhan, he lives in the Ganjaran village in the northern part. In the past, an Ishari festival was held throughout Malang district, in this village, which took place at the Al-Falah Islamic boarding school, under the auspices of Alm. KH. Mustofa Siradj.  Not only that, Ishari is also often held in celebration of local weddings.

Over time, the ishari culture slowly began to disappear. Ishari is rarely held in this village, almost none. My hope is that in the future this village can further develop human resources, to revive ishari culture in this Ganjaran village. Considering that the majority of the villagers are NU people, it would be a shame if the ishari culture was not preserved in this village.
