Sakera Art in Putat lor
Sakera art is one of the arts in Indonesia which is gradually disappearing. Sakera itself is an art that is usually played at traditional events such as weddings and traditional art performances. Currently the art of Sakera in Putatlor itself has been displaced a lot because of the declining public interest in this art.
Sakera is one of the community arts created by pencak silat figures which is a combination of pencak silat attractions with traditional music and Maduranese songs which are full of religious moral messages. Putatlor itself is a small area in East Java that has cultivated the art of Sakera, although it is not well known. In putat lor there are two groups of sakera arts with their own characteristics. The first group is those who cultivate the art of Sakera by maintaining the culture of Madura which is thick in the art of Sakera. For men, they wear red and white shirts, with loose black clothes and pants. Whereas for women they use a red kebaya with Madura batik cloth. In the second group, they cultivate the art of Sakera by adding a bit of a modern impression. In the music that accompanies the arts, they use Islamic poetry, and for the male Sakera, they wear white shirts with loose blue clothes and pants. Whereas for women they use a blue kebaya with white batik cloth. Members of the Sakera arts usually consist of 30 people with 15 men and 15 women.
Apart from appearing at traditional events, the art of Sakera Putatlor usually also appears when they are called to perform. In one appearance they usually don’t charge a price, they only ask the host to provide food during the event. However, as time goes by, the culture of Sakera in Putatlor is increasingly being pushed aside. The community prefers to rent concerts at weddings. In addition, many people object to providing food for the performers of the Sakera arts, because according to them there are too many Sakera members to provided food so that it is burdensome.
Due to the lack of calls to perform, the art of Sakera in Putatlor is also disappearing. Not long after, the leader of the Sakera group died, so the Sakera arts group was disbanded. Since then, there have been no more Sakera art performances held in Putatlor, in fact it seems that nowadays this culture has been completely forgotten and disappeared.
